Just over three years ago, Tony Casey, Matthew Tietje, and Steve Stanley had the idea to start a podcast that would cover technology, theology, and everything in between. The Techology Show was born to see what technologies pastors and churches could use to have a greater kingdom impact. I was serving in North Carolina at the time and started out as a monthly guest to talk about youth ministry.
When I moved to South Carolina in August 2010, I was honored to be asked to be a weekly co-host. It has been an incredible journey and has enabled me to meet many of my heroes. It has also opened other doors for me as I’ve become the Tech Talk guy on the Good Morning Show with David Gould in Nashville. Matthew and I have also lead Social Media training at our pastor’s retreat. Technology is one of my passions, I’m always wanting to gain theological knowledge, and I’m the master of the everything in between.
After 169 episodes on Wednesday(with a few on special days for special guests), the Techology Show moves to noon on Tuesdays to catch more listeners and guests nation wide. Our first guest is John Saddington aka The Tentblogger to talk to us about how blogging has gotten so big and what the future holds. It’s a new era with more guests and more prizes!
3 Reasons I’m Excited about the Techology Show moving to Tuesdays
1. We have an opportunity to reach people we haven’t reached before. There are so many guests we couldn’t have simply because of the time difference during the Wednesday time slot. We’ve got a chance to build our audience and our guest list.
2. Wednesday’s were long days with having to get the kids up extra early so I could drop them off at school before heading to Tony’s(about a 45 minute drive). Then there was the drive back and church on Wednesday nights. Tuesdays will be much more relaxed because I will be able to get to the studio in plenty of time and don’t have regular commitments on Tuesday nights.
3. We are all in. It’s not that we weren’t before, but covering the 2012 Wesleyan General Conference gave us a renewed sense of purpose and belonging. It was great to actually meet our audience and know that we were providing a valuable service while fulfilling our callings and passions. I’m blessed to be a part of this team, and The Techology Show is going to be bigger and better than ever!
