The Christian conference I would love to attend

Well, it’s that time of year again:  Christian Conference season.  Actually, according to this there is no off-season anymore for Christian conferences.  They are a big deal and big business plus you never know who you’re going to see there.  Here’s a list of 8 great conferences.  I will be going down to Exponential in Orlando with my wife and several hundred Wesleyans.  I’ll be the guy walking around with a camera and a mic.  I’m also attending the InCite Conference at newhope church in Durham, NC this June.  I recently got an invite to conference this fall that I have never attended.  I was intrigued, but ultimately disappointed when I looked at what they were offering.  With that in mind [Read more…] about The Christian Conference I Would Love to Attend

A Challenge to the Wesleyan Church

fishingboatsIt’s that time of year again in the Wesleyan Church.  It’s time to fill out year end reports.  Some people don’t like doing them.  Some openly complain about them on Facebook forums.  Many say that we don’t really measure the things that really matter.  I was blessed when I first became a Senior Pastor to have someone give me a spreadsheet to enter weekly and monthly statistics.  This makes year end reporting a breeze so you won’t hear any bashing from me.

One of the things we measure is baptisms.  We measure other things too like church attendance and salvations, but I won’t to speak to the issue of baptisms.  As I’ve been reading through the New Testament as part of the #40daybible Community Bible Experience I see lots of people joining the new movement of Christianity.   [Read more…] about A Challenge to the Wesleyan Church
