Recently, I released a video on youtube outlining the last few years of my life. I talked about overcoming self doubt and the people who have helped me get to where I am today. I also laid out an 80 day challenge to exercise daily to become wholly and holy healthy. The video is around 15 minutes long and I made it for 2 reasons:
1. To verbalize my feelings and talk things through.
2. To encourage and mobilize others.
This video got more response than any other I’ve ever done. People were very encouraging to me in their tweets, emails, and comments. It motivated me even more to do what God had challenged and called me to do. I did not seek to be encouraged by others in this, but it was a natural( and much appreciated) by product. With that in mind, here are a few rules to remember about encouragement.
1. Seek out people to encourage daily. Great post here on who that could be. Tweet, email, text, call or visit them.
2. Seek out people who will encourage you daily. You know who they are. Make the call.
3. Give and receive encouragement with grace.
Encouragement is an invaluable part of accountability and both should be a regular part of your healthy life.
